FOLD (fold.cm) is an open publishing platform with a unique structure that lets writers link media cards to the text of their stories. FOLD is used by journalists, educators, and storytellers around the world.
Writers can annotate their text with media cards that support videos, photos, gifs, maps, tweets, audio, links & more.
FOLD is a social writing platform—users can follow other authors to see a custom homepage composed of their friends' stories (combined with new discoveries!)
Media cards branch from the text, and can be explored by clicking links within FOLD or with the side arrows.
Writers type directly into cards to build their story. Media cards can be created by searching through YouTube, Soundcloud, Flickr, and other services within the writing environment.
FOLD offers granular analytics that match its card-based storytelling format. Writers can see a "heatmap" of their story that shows which cards readers are spending time on. Writers can also see what links readers are clicking, and how far readers are getting through the story.
